My Favorite Dish...


Tinolang Manok or (Chicken Ginger Stew with Vegetables) recipe is the Filipino food dish; Tinolang Manok recipe is a Filipino food that is easy to cook…it’s one of my favorite food.
This recipe is one of the famous dish in Philippines. You don’t need to be a master chef to cook this, in fact, this is the first recipe that I learned to cook!

INGREDIENTS:

1 kilo chicken, cut in serving pieces
1 unripe papaya, quartered
1 onion, chpped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 thumb-size ginger root, cut into strips.

COOKING PROCEDURE:

In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
Sauté ginger and garlic until fragrant.
Add onions. Stir-fry until softened and translucent.
Add chicken cuts. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until chicken turns white.
Season with patis (fish sauce). Cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour in water , bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer until chicken is half done.
Add in papaya. Continue simmering until chicken and vegetable are tender.
Season with pepper and salt according to your taste (you can use chicken cubes)
Then add sili leaves or malunngay or spinach.
Cover and let simmer for about 3 minutes or until the sili/malunggay or spinach are cooked.
Remove from the heat.

Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot….:)
